Story of tulsi-shaligram vivah

Hare Krishna.
Srila Prabhupad always focused in his book that , for women chastity is most important thing and most beautiful ornaments of her life and that chastity comes by worshiping  Tulsi Maharani. As Tulsi maharani is embodiment of chastity.

The following history of the appearance of Saligrama and Tulasi is from the Brahma-vaivarta Purana. Though the description there is quite elaborate, we are presenting it here in brief.

There was once a king named Vrsadhvaja who, despite arriving in a dynasty of pious Vaishnava kings, was strictly devoted to Lord Shiva. He had no faith in Lord Vishnu or any of the demigods, and even began to criticize the worship of Lord Vishnu. Seeing the offensive behavior of Vrishadhvaja, Suryadeva cursed him to lose all his wealth and power. He and two generations of his descendants thus became destitute until the appearance of Dharmadhvaja. - Dharmadhvaja and his wife very devotedly worshiped Lakshmidevi to gain her favor and thus a plenary portion of Lakshmi entered his wife's womb.

On Kartika Purnima at a time marked with every auspicious sign, the wife of Dharmadhvaja, Madhavi, gave birth to a very beautiful daughter. She was decorated with all fortunate signs and grew to be an exquisitely beautiful young girl never aging beyond sixteen years. Her beauty stole the mind and heart of everyone, and being impossible to compare her with anyone else, She became known as Tulasi, (matchless). - Leaving home, Tulasi went to Badrivan where she performed severe penances with a desire in her mind that Lord Narayana himself become her husband. Pleased with her austerities, Brahmaji appeared before her and asked what boon she desired. Tulasi explained to him, "In my pervious birth, I was a gopi named Tulasi. By my wonderful good fortune, I was able to become the very dearly beloved maid servant of Lord Krishna. One day in the rasa-mandala, Radharani angrily cursed me to be born on the earth in human society. Thus leaving my divine body, I have taken my birth on the earth in this present form. Now I desire the boon of attaining Lord Narayana as my husband."

Lord Brahma replied, "There was one cowherd boy named Sudama who also received Radharani?s curse to be born on the earth. By that curse he has been born in the family of demons and is now famous on the earth as Sankhacuda. He has done extreme penance's to attain certain boons and to get you as his wife. Thus in this life he will become your husband for some time. Later by the influence of lila you will curse Lord Narayana, but accepting your curse, Lord Narayana will then become your husband. Lord Vishnu will love you more dearly than His own life, and without your presence all puja will be fruitless. By my boon, becoming the presiding deity of all the trees, you will freely enjoy unlimited happiness in the constant association of Lord Vishnu."

Sankhacuda, receiving his desired benedictions along with an all-auspicious protective shield (kavaca) from Lord Brahma came to Badrivan where he met Tulasi. As they were conversing with each other, Lord Brahma appeared on the spot and said, ?Sankhacuda, please accept this young maiden as your wife." Turning to Tulasi he told her, "After the death of Sankhacuda, you will obtain Lord Vishnu as your husband." - The other boon that Sankhacuda received from Lord Brahma was that as long as the chastity of his wife was not violated, no one would be able to kill him. Thus becoming very arrogant, he began to terrorize all the demigods and human beings. Severely afflicted by his attacks, the demigods approached Lord Shiva and begged him to protect them. Then Lord Shankara went there and personally began to fight with Sankhacuda. - Meanwhile, Lord Vishnu made a plan to destroy the chastity of Tulasi. While Lord Shiva and Sankhacuda were ferociously fighting, Lord Hari in the form of a brahmana arrived on the battlefield. He said to Sankhacuda, "Please give your kavaca in charity to me, a brahmana." Then Sankhacuda immediately gave Him the kavaca in charity. That same Lord Hari, disguising Himself as Sankhacuda then went to see Tulasi.

Deceiving her in this way, He began to enjoy with her as if He were her husband and thus broke her chastity. - The Bhavisya Purana goes on for great length to point out that there was certainly no fault on Lord Vishnu's part. He wanted to maintain the benediction given by His devotee Lord Brahma to Sankhacuda, and at the same time He wanted to protect the demigods and devotees. For this purpose He created this particular pastime with the appearance of improper behavior. But since Tulasi is the plenary part of Lakshmidevi, she is actually the wife of Lord Vishnu. - At that very moment Lord Shiva killed Sankhacuda on the battlefield. When Tulasi understood all that had happened, she said, "By deceiving me, you have broken my chastity, and killed my husband. You're absolutely stone hearted! Thus I curse you to remain on earth as a stone!" - Lord Hari said, "For many years you underwent very difficult penance's to achieve Me. At the same time, Sankhacuda has also done severe penance's to get you. By the result of his austerity, he enjoyed you as his wife and has now gone to Goloka. Now you will get the fruit of your penances. Leaving this mortal body and taking a divine form, you will always remain with Me. Your present body shall turn into the river Gandaki, and from your hair will grow many trees famous as Tulasi. To fulfill your curse, I will become a stone (Saligrama-shila) and will always live on the banks of the Gandaki River. The millions of worms who live in that place will adorn those stones with the sign of My cakra by carving them with their sharp teeth." After this Lord Vishnu began do dwell perpetually in the waters of the Gandaki River in the form of stones.

Govardhan Puja, also called Annakut (meaning a heap of grain)

Govardhan Puja, also called Annakut (meaning a heap of grain) , is celebrated as the day Krishna defeated Indra. It is the fourth day of Dipavali (Diwali), the Hindu festival of lights.
The day is celebrated on the first lunar day of Shukla Paksha (Bright fortnight) in the Hindu calendar month of Kartika.

According to legends, Lord Krishna taught people to worship the Supreme Controller of nature, God, specifically Govardhan, as Govardhan is a manifestation of Krishna, and to stop worshiping the God of Rains, Lord Indra. For Annakut a mountain of food is decorated symbolizing Govardhan mountain said to be lifted
by Lord Krishna to save the people from the wrath of Lord Indra, the demigod in charge of rain. This pooja is performed with great zeal and enthusiasm and in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. In Haryana, there is a tradition of building cow dung hillocks, which symbolize the Mount Govardhan, the mountain which was once lifted by Lord Krishna. After making such hillocks people decorate them with flowers and then worship them.
They move in a circle all round the cow dung hillocks and offer prayers to Lord Govardhan. In
Haryana Govardhan Puja forms an important part of the celebrations of Diwali. In Maharashtra it is celebrated as Padva or BaliPratipada. The day commemorates King Bali. Men present gifts to their wives on this day. In Haryana, Gujarat, it is celebrated as New Year, as Vikram Samvat starts on this day. Govardhan puja is when Lord Krishna stopped the people of Vrindavan dham worshipping Lord Indra because Indra had become too proud of himself so Lord Krishna completely stopped it and told the inhabitants of Vrindavana to worship Govardhan Hill. This worship has carried on from 5000 years ago to the 21st Century.

APPEARNCE OF RADHA KUND

Govindaji took His bath and then came out. And He said to Radharani, You
took the side of a demon. Why dont You purify Yourself by taking bath in
My kund And She said, I will not take bath in your kund. Because the sin
of killing cows is in Your kund. I will make My own kund. So, She found
one of the hoof prints of Aristasura. And Her and the sakhis and the gopis
they took off their bracelets, and broke them into little shovels and
they were digging. And She made a chain of Gopis that went all the way to
Mansi ganga. They were handing buckets of water. Seeing Radharani and gopis working so hard, Krishna was not happy. So, He turned to the personification representing all the holy places in the universe. And that person came out of Syamakunda and approached Srimati Radharani, with folded palms, bowed at Her lotus feet and prayed, Please, I am the very embodiment of all the holy places of the universe. The only desire we have in our lives is if You bestow the supreme fortune and blessing upon us. We beg a benediction from You. Because he was so sincere, with such love, Sri Radhika replied, What is that benediction He said, Allow us to fill your kund also. So, She smiled and looked at Krishna and said, So be it. And the water from Syama kund over flooded and filled Sri Radha kund.

And Krishna told Srimati Radharani, As You are most dear to Me, similarly,
Radhakund is equally dear to Me. And everyday in the afternoon, Radha and
Krishna, with their most intimate associates, performed Rasalila and other such pastimes on the bank of Sri Radha kind. Rupa Goswami quoting from the scriptures, had declared to us that Radhakund is the holiest of all holy places. Of all the planets within this universe, the Earth is most holy.Because so many of the avatars of the Lord come. Of all places on Earth, Bharata varsha, India is very sacred. Because so many of the pastimes the Lord has performed in so many incarnations here. And within India, the

holiest place is the area of Mathura, where the source of all avatars, the avatari, took His birth. And in all of Mathura, the holiest place is the forest of Vrindavan where Krishna performed His most intimate pastimes. And in the forest of Vrindavan, the holiest place is Govardhan. And in the area of Govardhan, the most sacred of all sacred places in the entire creation is Radha kunda. The water of radha kunda is the liquid love of Srimati Radha Rani. And just by seeing that water, touching that water and what to speak of bathing in that water. And if we have the proper consciousness toaccess th at blessing, Radhas love fills our hearts and perfects our lives. On Bahulastami at midnight hundreds and thousands of Vrajvasis and pilgrims will be there taking their bath at Sri Radha Kund.
